MINSK, 11 May (BelTA) – Igor Boki of Belarus took six gold medals at the 2016 IPC Swimming European Open Championships in Funchal, Portugal, BelTA has learned.
The five-time Paralympic champion 2012 won the 50m and 100m freestyle, 100m backstroke, 100m butterfly, 200m medley and 400m freestyle finals at the continental forum in Portugal. Igor Boki also claimed the 100m breaststroke bronze.
Vladimir Izotov of Belarus celebrated a victory in SB12 category. Another Belarusian Grigory Zudilov graced the podium in the 50m freestyle S11 event.
The Belarusian team won the total of 10 medals at the competitions to finish sixth in the overall standings.
