MINSK, 21 December (BelTA) - The Honorary Consulate of Belarus has opened in Brazil’s Florianopolis, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The official ceremony of presenting the copies of the consular patents to newly-appointed Honorary Consul of Belarus to Florianopolis, the state of Santa Catarina, Brazil Milton Atanazio da Silva took place in Brasilia.

Speaking at the event Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to Brazil Leonid Krupets focused on the current state and prospects for further development of relations between Belarus and Brazil, taking into account the expansion of contacts with the State of Santa Catarina.

Milton Atanazio da Silva was appointed as Honorary Consul of the Republic of Belarus to Florianopolis on 24 November 2015.
