MINSK, 10 April (BelTA) – Prime Minister of Belarus Sergei Rumas presented state awards to BelTA employees on 10 April. The awards were bestowed as part of the ceremony to commend nearly 200 outstanding Belarusians in the Palace of the Republic, BelTA has learned.
Editor-in-Chief of BelTA’s Publishing House Galina Golovataya and the lead press photographer of the Photo Information Department of BelTA’s Visual Information Editorial Office Leonid Shcheglov were awarded Medals of Francysk Skaryna.
Editor of the English Translation Department of BelTA’s External Communications Center Natalya Kovalevskaya was awarded a Medal for Labor Services.
Sergei Rumas noted during the ceremony: “Reporters and mass media play an extremely important role in the modern world. You are always where events happen. The way Belarusian citizens see the world depends on your professionalism, objectivity, and unbiased coverage.”
