MINSK, 12 February (BelTA) – Aliona Falei of Belarus won the ITF France tournament in Grenoble defeating France’s Manon Leonard, 6-1, 4-6, 6-4 in the final, BelTA has learned.
With the success in Grenoble, 19-year-old Aliona Falei rose 48 spots to No. 201 in the world rankings.
Former world number one Victoria Azarenka, currently ranked 31 in the world, is to open her Qatar Open run against world number 52 Magdalena Frech of Poland. The two previous tournaments in Qatar were won by Poland’s Iga Swiatek. In 2020 the event was won by Belarus’ Aryna Sabalenka.
