The Special Photography exhibition organized by the Belarusian Association of Photographers tells about analogue photography which has given way to digital. The exhibition features the unique prints made using the gelatin silver process. Every photo has footnotes. The project seeks to combine organically visual presentation and literary accompaniment. Visitors will learn that analog photography is special and that every photo has an amazing story to tell.

Kalozha Blagovest will gather church choirs, both children’s and adult, in Grodno for the 17th time. All in all, the festival will feature 34 choirs from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Poland, Uzbekistan, Romania, Montenegro, Macedonia... Ahead of the festival there will be auditions of the parish choirs from different regions of Belarus: the best will have the right to perform in the final round of the festival. The program of the festival also includes art exhibitions and concerts by chamber choirs, a concert of sacred poetry and author's music, screening of movies dedicated to Orthodoxy.

Moscow Circus on Tsvetnoy Boulevard, one of Russia’s oldest circus companies, will present the Ice Extravaganza program on the stage of the Belarusian State Circus. The new show will delight the audience with a kaleidoscope of spectacular acts in different genres: acrobats and equilibrists on motorcycles, gymnasts on cord de peril and Rohnard wheel, clowns and jugglers. All this extravaganza will unfold on ice. Among the main characters are bears, monkeys, dogs, parrots... The names of the artists are kept secret yet, but the organizers promise an amazing dynamic show combining professionalism and artistry, breathtaking tricks and stunning pirouettes.

One of the most outstanding contemporary violinists Adam Baldych is a graduate of Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice and Berklee College of Music. Since childhood he has been performing together with famous musicians, touring Poland, Germany, Hungary, Serbia, England, France, Spain, the United States and Indonesia. The musician boasts three solo albums, with highly positive reviews, prestigious awards, including ECHO Jazz-2013, Jazz Melomani Grand Prix – Musician of the Year 2012… Adam Baldych will join the winter jazz nights in Minsk.

The biggest book forum in Belarus and the CIS will gather in Minsk the leading publishers and distributors of literature from the CIS and non-CIS states. Serbia will be the 2018 Guest of Honor, with Kazakhstan announced the central exhibitor of the year. The main program of the forum will feature the 4th edition of the International Literature Symposium Writer and Time, a seminar for young writers and an award ceremony for The Art of Book national contest winners. The expo will traditionally display book novelties from the best national and foreign publication houses, meetings and autograph sessions of famous writers, roundtables, competitions and workshops for young writers…

One of the renowned musicians and conductors of the present time Vladimir Spivakov will gather in Minsk a constellation of the world’s famous singers and musicians. The festival will open with the best arias by the legendary duet and married couple Anna Netrebko and Yusif Eyvazov, accompanied by the State Academic Symphony Orchestra of Belarus under the baton of maestro Vladimir Spivakov. Young talents, prize-winners of international competitions, will perform the masterpieces of Wolfgang Mozart, Dmitri Shostakovich, Astor Piazzolla and other composers together with the Moscow Virtuosi chamber orchestra. Contemporary dance fans will be treated to the play Corps by Emio Greco and Pieter Scholten (Ballet National de Marseille), a neoclassical ballet with eccentric elements.

The Fed Cup is a major international women’s tennis team competition organized by the International Tennis Federation. The tournament will begin with a game between Belarus (world’s No. 3 ) and Germany (top 6). The German team includes the world’s former number one Angelique Kerber. The year 2017 was triumphant for the Belarusian team: Belarus beat Netherlands and Switzerland, reached the Fed Cup’s World Group for the first time ever and made their way to the final where they narrowly lost to the USA (2:3). The winner of Fed Cup 2018 Belarus vs Germany tie will next play either Czechia or Switzerland.

PlaStforma is Belarus’ only forum of experimental plastic theaters. It debuted in 2013. Since then it has been acquiring growing recognition abroad and has been attracting participants from more and more countries. Last year’s festival attracted artists and directors, dancers and choreographers from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Poland, and Denmark. This year’s PlaStforma Minsk 2018 will feature the latest in modern choreography and plastic theater as seen by Belarusian and foreign dance companies in the most interesting spheres. The festival will focus on the Polish Vector: spectators will be able to get familiar with select few performances from Poland. The program will also include lectures, discussions, meet-the-artist events, and certainly master classes from prominent choreographers, dancers, and theater critics.

The best electropop and synth-pop band of the last 30 years, Depeche Mode are coming back to Minsk after a three-year hiatus as part of the Global Spirit Tour. The concert scheduled for July 2017 was canceled when the lead singer David Gahan got sick and was hospitalized right on the day of the concert. The musicians, however, promised to find some spare time in the busy schedule to make their Minsk fans happy. The band will present their new album Spirit recorded in cooperation with the big-name producer James Ford. The setlist features the band’s best songs, including the iconic Enjoy the Silence and Personal Jesus listed among the 100 greatest songs of all time…

The show Chudiki (Weirdoes) is a unique mixture of classics and contemporary art, humor and drama, sublime and ordinary things. The theater piece is based on nine novels by famous Russian director and writer Vasily Shukshin: “Cherednichenko and the Circus”, “Outer Space, the Nervous System and a Slab of Fatback”, “Exam”, “Microscope”, “Mille Pardons, Madame”, and some others. The author himself viewed his characters as weird but good people. The leading actor, People’s Artist of Russia Fyodor Dobronravov calls them “great dreamers caught in difficult life situations”, who are no strangers to such things as pride, conscience, and duty. The show also features some artists from the leading Moscow theaters: Olga Lerman, Ivan Dobronravov, Natalya Ryzhikh, and Alexander Chernyavsky.

Singer and actress, coach in the popular Ukrainian TV project “The Voice Kids”, Honored Artist of Ukraine Tina Karol will give a concert in Minsk in the run-up to Valentine’s Day in support of her album Intonations released in August 2017. Popular singer, People’s Artist of Ukraine Ani Lorak is one of the most renowned and celebrated singers in the CIS. The singer with a 4+ octave voice has been awarded such prestigious prizes and titles as Big Apple Music 1996 and ESC Radio Award 2008, Golden Gramophone, Singer of the Year, Person of the Year, Song of the Year. She recorded five golden and two platinum albums and was called one of the sexiest women in the world by For Him Magazine. In Minsk Ani Lorak will present the DIVA show featuring popular hits and new song to celebrate St. Valentine’s Day. The show was staged by renowned director and creative producer of Eurovision 2017 Oleg Bondarchuk.

The chamber band Minsk Classic under the baton of Maksim Rassokha, the winner of international contests and scholarship holder of the Belarus President’s Talented Youth Support Fund, will give a concert featuring the music from Soviet films of the 1960-1970s produced by the legendary film studio Belarusfilm. These include The Spring Fairytale, After the Fair, Pavlinka, The Last Summer of Childhood, King Stakh's Wild Hunt, Last Year’s Quadrille, Sasha-Sashenka, etc. The concert will feature the music of great composer of the 20th century, People’s Artist of the USSR Yevgeny Glebov.

The Georgian ballet Sukhishvili which is often called the eighth wonder of the world was the first folk dance group in history to ever perform at Milan’s La Scala. After the concert at one of the largest theaters in the world, the curtain was raised 14 times beating Enrico Caruso’s record of 11 times. For 72 years, performances of the Sukhishvili ballet have received wide acclaim all over the world. The new program presented in Belarus will feature the best performances of the theater which is now led by the third generation of the Sukhishvili-Ramishvili dynasty.
