Belarus Fashion Week
The project, which was launched in the Chelyuskintsev Park in Minsk, allows getting acquainted with Belarus’ outstanding landmarks which are known all over the world. The large-scale open-air exhibition is a continuation of the Heritage of Belarus project and is dedicated to the jubilee events of 2015: the 70th anniversary of the UNESCO, the 60th anniversary of Belarus’s membership in the UNESCO, and 10 years since the Nesvizh Palace and Park was awarded the status of a UNESCO site. The exposition, which was on display on the fence of the park for a year, includes more than 60 photographs and shows four Belarusian sites on the list of the world cultural and natural heritage: Belovezhskaya Pushcha; Mir Castle; The Architectural, Residential and Cultural Complex of the Radziwill Family at Nesvizh; Struve Geodetic Arc.

The Belarusian State Circus invites to see a new entertaining show The Academy of Clowns featuring students-artists and amazing animals: horses, bears, parrots, ferrets, Chaplin the Dog, an elephant-hairdresser… The show is led by rector of this unusual university, Clown Bo, Honored Artist of Russia Boris Oskotsky, an outstanding artist of the Nikulin Moscow Circus on Tsvetnoy Boulevard. Russia’s Honored Artist Andrei Averyushkin and his Jolly Ferrets will be one of the main draws of the show. These tiny animals that are almost untamable do incredible things on the stage: rolling back a carpet with the help of their noses, doing exercises on parallel bars, getting on their back feet and even performing a solo.

Outstanding artist-stage designer, book illustrator, master of easel painting and theater graphics, designer of the Silver Age, a native of Grodno, Leon Bakst won worldwide recognition thanks to his works for legendary Sergei Diaghilev’s Ballets Russes in Paris. The art project will be running in Minsk from 10 February till 17 April. Dedicated to the 150th anniversary of Leon Bakst’s birth, the exhibition will feature more than 40 works of different genres, from paintings to costume and set designs. One of the most famous exhibits will be the painting “Bathers on the Lido, Venice” bought from an English collector. For the first time visitors will enjoy a large exposition of more than 200 works by Leon Bakst's contemporaries: representatives of the World of Art association: Dobuzhinsky, Vrubel, Zhukovsky, Kustodiev, Levitan, Voloshin, Petrov-Vodkin.

The multimedia project dedicated to one of the greatest masters of the Italian Renaissance Michelangelo Buonarroti invites you to a virtual tour of the famous Sistine Chapel in the Vatican which tells the biblical story of creation in nine scenes from the Old Testament and has more than 300 figures. The major part of the exhibition is dedicated to the greatest artist of the High Renaissance Michelangelo Buonarroti who was named Il Divino (the divine one) in his lifetime and whose influence on the art is still felt these days. The visitors to the exhibition will also get familiar with the works of other Renaissance giants such as Leonardo da Vinci, Raffaello, Giotto, Botticelli, Tiziano and see Michelangelo’s famous sculptures in a 3D format – Pieta, Slaves, David, Moses.

The musical spring in the ancient Polotsk traditionally brings together internationally renowned singers and groups from different countries: Belarus, Russia, Lithuania, Estonia, Poland, Austria and China. The festival will open with the tunes from the works of Haydn, Mozart, Karlovic and Bogdanovich by the famous baroque group Capella Cracoviensis from Polish Krakow. One of the most anticipated concert of choral music will be the program Boys Are Singing which will feature more than 100 young singers - winners of the Feodor Chaliapin national contest. The festival will conclude with the tribute to the 260th anniversary of the birth of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Belarusian pianist Arseniy Sadykov and Chinese tenor Van Hontao accompanied by the Symphony Orchestra of the Belarusian TV and Radio Company conducted by Erki Pehk (Estonia) will perform brilliant creations of the Austrian composer whom contemporaries called “the miracle of the 18th century”.

Producers, buyers, experts and bloggers from various countries will gather for the biggest event in the Belarusian fashion industry. The BFW main podium will host the presentations of the Autumn-Winter 2016/2017 collections of famous Belarusian brands: Davidova, BOITSIK, Julia Babiy, Samoschenko, Alena Goretskaya, Miranovich, Doresset, Ton-in-ton, Candy Lady, Line A, NAVY, Harydavets&Efremova, LEORGOFMAN… The Off Schedule BFW program will include new pret-a-porter collections from 12 prominent designers. Young designers, the participants of the New Names BFW competition, will create modern images from natural flax. The Fashion Study Centre BFW will host lectures, presentations, master classes, the Fashion Blog Competition BFW, a streetstyle photography competition, and also an exhibition of fashion photographer Alina Pavlinina, the winner of the Golden Belarus 2015 and PhotoArt’ 15 competitions.

Popular singer, People’s Artist of Ukraine Ani Lorak finished second at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2008. She is a holder numerous awards, including Golden Gramophone, Singer of the Year, Person of the Year, Song of the Year, and also five gold and two platinum discs. The singer made it twice to the top 100 sexiest women in the world according to For Him Magazine". As part of her world tour Ani Lorak will bring to Minsk her grandiose show Carolina about a small girl from a provincial town who, despite all twists and turns of life, achieved her dream of becoming a singer. The audience will be treated to a bright evening of live sound, stunning dance and acrobatic acts, magnificent costumes and decorations, and of course the beautiful voice of the Ukrainian diva.

Isabelle Geffroy, known by the nickname Zaz, is a French singer-songwriter who mixes jazzy styles, French variety, soul and acoustic. The victory in Le Tremplin Generation France Bleu/Reservoir competition in 2009 brought her worldwide recognition. Her first album, Zaz, released in 2010 topped the European hit parade charts and very soon got a gold status. Her hit "Je veux" made her one of the most famous French women in the world and earned her an audience in the Elysee Palace. In Minsk ZAZ, named a modern Edith Piaf, will sing her hits "Les passants", "Le Long de la route", "La fee", "Eblouie par la nuit" and others for the first time.

The legendary Britons The Prodigy are bringing their infectious and anarchic fury back to Minsk. Their previous concert in 2009 gathered 15,000 of fans at Dinamo Stadium. Seven years later, the band will return to Belarus to stage a no-less-spectacular show at the largest roofed concert venue in Belarus, Minsk Arena. Keith Flint, Liam Howlett, and Maxim Reality will present their new album The Day Is My Enemy. Released in March 2015, it shot straight to the top of the world’s music charts.

The symphony orchestra Olimpia Classics conducted by maestro Mikhail Snitko will return to Minsk to give a grand concert dedicated to the masterpieces of world cinema of the 20th and 21st century. Among Mikhail Snitko’s teachers were such renowned conductors as People’s Artists of Russia Gennady Provatorov, Ilya Musin, and Gennady Rozhdestvensky. The first concert of the series was a sell-out. This time, the orchestra will perform famous soundtracks from the films that have already become cinema classics. These include the world bestsellers Gone with the Wind, Schindler’s List, Titanic, Romeo and Juliet, A Space Odyssey, Mission: Impossible, Game of Thrones, The Terminator, and others. The audience will enjoy the best episodes from their favorite films on a big screen with a live accompaniment by the orchestra.

The first encounter of French film stars Gerard Depardieu and Fanny Ardant on screen was in Francois Truffaut’s 1981 iconic film The Woman Next Door. Many years later, the creative tandem was restored in the theater production Music for Two based on the play of famous author, script writer and director Marguerite Duras. In Minsk the actors will show the love drama of a married couple who met before a divorce trying to acknowledge their mistakes and talk about the past and the present for the last time. A sophisticated, inaccessible and ironic character of Fanny Ardant and a sincere and jealous man madly in love with his wife portrayed by Gerard Depardieu spend a sleepless night together which, according to the actors, resembles a symphony concert with only two musicians displaying a colorful palette of feelings of a woman and a man…

One of the largest expos of telecommunications and software products of the CIS countries and Baltic states will bring together leading representatives of the IT industry in Minsk. The main events will be the 23rd international specialized expo TIBO 2016 and the 23rd Belarusian congress on information society technologies. The geography of participants expands every year: more than 200 companies from 13 countries displayed their scientific and technological achievements, software products in 2015. It is expected that the number of participants will increase this year. The versatile program of the forum will include the Belarus-Azerbaijan business forum, the exhibition and fair Trade Forum – Innovative Technologies in Trade, the Belarus-Germany forum Industry 4.0. – Innovations in Manufacturing Sector, presentations, round tables, and master classes. The central event of the forum will be the presentation of the Internet Prize of the international specialized expo TIBO 2016.

Ivan Karizna, cellist and a finalist of the classic Eurovision Song Contest 2010, a laureate of the 14th International Tchaikovsky Competition, a graduate of the Conservatoire de Paris, will perform in Minsk for the first time ever. The large solo concert will combine the greatest musical genres — Baroque, Classicism and Romanticism. The virtuoso performer will play famous works by Antonio Vivaldi, Joseph Haydn, Gabriel Faure and Robert Schumann accompanied by Muzzic Dom Orchestra conducted by Ivan Kostyakhin. By the way, Ivan Karizna plays a 19th-century violoncello presented to him by Vladimir Spivakov, who was the first one to foretell a great future to the young musician. Vladimir Spivakov compared Ivan Karizna with Mstislav Rostropovich. The cellist Mikhail Radunsky, who is a pupil of Vladimir Perlin and a scholarship holder of the Belarus president’s foundation for gifted students, will also take part in the performance.
