MINSK, 29 September (BelTA) – A Belarusian delegation laid a wreath at the Mao Zedong Memorial in his home town Shaoshan, Hunan Province to mark China’s founding anniversary, BelTA learned from the Belarusian embassy in Beijing.
The delegation comprised Economy Minister Vladimir Zinovsky, Mogilev Oblast Governor Vladimir Domanevsky, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to China Kirill Rudy. The Belarusian representatives also visited the Mao Zedong Museum in Changsha, the capital of Hunan Province.
The program of the visit of the Belarusian delegation will also include meetings with Communist Party Secretary of Hunan Province Du Jiahao and Hunan Province Governor Xu Dazhe. The parties are expected to discuss the progress in the implementation of the agreements reached at the meeting of Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko and Communist Party Secretary of Hunan Province Du Jiahao in April 2017, supplies of the Belarusian milk and beef to the region and also tourism cooperation prospects.
Hunan, one of the Chinese most populous provinces (about 68 million people), is located in the south-east of China. Mogilev Oblast has been actively cooperating with the province within the past year. The two regions have signed a number of documents on cooperation.
