Belarus’ coproduced Carmen premiered in Paris

MINSK, 26 November (BelTA) – Carmen ballet staged by a group of cultural figures from Belarus, Armenia, Russia, Ukraine and France had its first show in Paris, BelTA learnt from the Embassy of Belarus in France.

Attending the show was Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to France Pavel Latushko, representatives of the creative intelligentsia of Belarus, Russia and France. The premiere in the production of Russia choreographer Nadezhda Kalinina was attended by more than 4,500 people. The arrangement of the music of well-known French composer Georges Bizet was made by Professor of the Belarusian State Academy of Music Viktor Voitik. The theatrical scenery was made from the sketches of design director of the Gorky National Academy Drama Theater Alla Sorokina. The ballet premiere in Paris accompanied by the Grodno Capella Orchestra received a big hand from the French audience.

The show is expected to travel around 50 cities of France.
