MINSK, 5 August (BelTA) – Elena Furman of Belarus won the Lightweight Women's Single Sculls gold at the 2018 European Rowing Championships in Glasgow, BelTA informs.
The Belarusian clocked 7:46.600 to secure the champion title. Second was Laura Tarantola of France (7:45.940). Italy’s Clara Guerra finished third (7:47.410).
This season Elena Furman secured gold at the Belgrade World Cup and was second at the Linz World Cup.
Elena Furman’s gold was the only medal won by Belarus at the 2018 European Rowing Championships in Glasgow. Belarus shared the 8th-11th spots overall with Germany, Croatia and Russia. Romania topped the medal standings with 3 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze medals.
