MINSK, 21 July (BelTA) - Belarusian athletes have completed their performance at 2024 ICF Junior and U23 Canoe Sprint World Championships in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, BelTA has learned.
The U18 final included eight heats, with Belarusian rowers represented in five events. Hleb Dziomin and Ivan Kazlou secured a convincing victory in the C2 M 1000m Junior, crossing the finish line eight seconds ahead of the Chinese duo. The German tandem came in third.
Maksim Murauski of Belarus placed second in the C1 M 500m Junior, finishing behind Brazil’s Mateus Nunes. Maryia Papichych finished sixth in the C1 W 200m Junior. Ilya Filimonau placed seventh in the K1 M 1000m Junior, Darya Kliuchynskaya – ninth in the K1 W 500m Junior.
Belarus has won a total of six (4-1-1) medals. Earlier, Maryia Misiuchenka claimed the K1 200m champion title. She, paired with Darya Kliuchynskaya, also took gold in the K2 W 500m. Maryia Papichych collected gold in the C1 W 1000m, Ihar Yakshyn and Ilya Filimonau claimed bronze in the K1 M 1000m.
