MINSK, 18 October (BelTA) – Samhain, a traditional Celtic festival marking the end of the harvest season will be celebrated in the Central Botanical Garden in Minsk on 26 October, BelTA learned from the administration of the Central Botanical Garden.

The festival will highlight Celtic culture, music and traditions. “Samhain is one of the biggest Celtic festivals, the day of transition from autumn to winter, the time when animals and plants fall asleep or fade in the run-up to the winter season to wake up later. Celts believed that during Samhain the reality is intertwined with the magic. The tradition to celebrate Samhain is similar to harvest festivals of our ancestors. The festival of Celtic culture will take visitors on a journey into the past,” the administration of the Central Botanical Garden said.

There will be entertainments for everyone. Visitors will be offered a concert, interactive venues, photo zones, a fire show, Irish dances, Games of Highlanders, meetings with druids and Scottish pipers, and a big market of handmade goods.

Visitors will be able to practice archery and crossbow shooting, take part in a master class in traditional Celtic dances and rune readings, meet with magical creatures, learn Scottish fencing, soap making and pumpkin carving. There will be a big themed food court, relax lounges, mulled wine, quizzes and contests from the festival partners.
