MINSK, 22 May (BelTA) – The Evenings of the Bolshoi Theater at the Radziwill Castle will be held in the town of Nesvizh from 22 to 24 June, BelTA learned from the National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theater of Belarus.

The annual festival of the Bolshoi Theater of Belarus gathers admirers of classical music, opera and ballet at the Radziwill Castle dubbed as the “Belarusian Versailles”.

The Evenings of the Bolshoi Theater 2018 will start with the Belarusian Romanticism concert program. On 22 June a concert at the Church of Corpus Domini, which is the first Baroque monument in Eastern Europe, will feature the works by Belarusian composers whose names have become synonymous with the Romantic era.

The festival day will continue with The Evening of Classical Ballet in the courtyard of the castle the ballet stars of the Belarusian Bolshoi who will perform popular fragments from the world ballets, solo performances, adagios and dynamic pas de deux. The concert will be conducted by Nikolai Koliadko.

The concert “Four Centuries of Belarusian Vocal Music” at the Theater Hall of the Radziwill Castle on 23 June will feature opera soloists of the Bolshoi Theater of Belarus Yuri Gorodetsky (tenor), Elena Zolova (soprano), Ilya Silchukov (baritone). They will perform solo vocal works from the pieces from the 17th to 20th centuries. The host will be Honored Artist of the Republic of Belarus Viktor Skorobogatov.

The Theater Hall of the Radziwill Castle will also host a concert “The Evening of Sergei Rachmaninoff Art Songs”. Bolshoi opera soloist Ekaterina Golovleva will perform the composer’s “hits”: “Spring Waters”, “Fragment from Musset”, “Oh, Do Not Grieve!”, “Before the icon”.

Saturday night will take place in the atmosphere of love and sorrow. The drama of love and death of the brilliant Parisian courtesan Violetta Valery will be performed on the main stage of the festival in the courtyard of the castle. The premiere of the new production staged by Andrejs Zagars opened the current season. Andrei Galanov will conduct.

On 24 June the leading opera and ballet soloists and musicians of the string quintet Serenada invite lovers of tango music and hot southern melodies to the Theater Hall of the Nesvizh castle to hear "Milonga with the Serenada".

The festival will wrap up with The Stars of the Bolshoi in Nesvizh on the main stage in the courtyard of the Radziwill Castle. The concert program will feature popular arias and duets, bright performances from the ballet masterpieces, songs of the world musical heritage. Andrei Galanov will conduct.

The Bolshoi Theater of Belarus launched the festival headlined as The Evenings of the Bolshoi Theater in Nesvizh Radziwill family castle in 2010. It is an offsite musical marathon of the opera and ballet companies, and also orchestra musicians. Traditionally, the festival spans several concert venues: the Church of Corpus Domini, Theater Hall of the Radziwill Castle and the main stage arranged in the courtyard of the castle.
