GRODNO, 31 January (BelTA) – The update of the local area networks of the Berestovitsa and Bruzgi checkpoints on the Belarusian-Polish border is scheduled for the beginning of March, BelTA learned from the Grodno Regional Customs Office.
The first batch of equipment mostly consisting of computers, laptops and office equipment arrived in late 2019.
“We have already chosen the contractor to carry out the construction and installation works that will begin as soon as we receive the remaining shipment,” said the Grodno Regional Customs Office.
The international technical assistance project “Improving border management operations at Bruzgi and Berestovitsa road checkpoints" is aimed at facilitating border crossing and enhancing the security of customs information and personal data of travelers crossing the border.
The European Union has contributed around €1 million to the Poland-Belarus-Ukraine cross-border cooperation program for 2014-2020, with the Grodno Regional Customs Office as the leading beneficiary.
