MINSK, 13 March (BelTA) – Belarus has banned international mass gatherings through 6 April due to the coronavirus outbreak, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Healthcare Ministry.
The Healthcare Ministry believes that the main task for today is to reduce the risk of the spread of the virus into the country. “Today at a special meeting in the Council of Ministers it was decided to limit all cultural, sport and scientific events with international participation until 6 April,” the ministry said.
“Green light for other mass events will be given after the conditions for their organization are assessed. The key task is to minimize the risk to the audience,” the Healthcare Ministry stressed.
On 12 March, Belarus began monitoring the places of mass gatherings for a proper operation of ventilation shafts, availability of antiseptics and compliance with other sanitary standards.
