MINSK, 4 July (BelTA) - The event “Let’s Sing the Belarusian Anthem Together” was held in the Eastern Square near the Royal Palace in Madrid, Spain. The event was dedicated to Belarus’ Independence Day, BelTA was told in the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

It was the first this event was held in the Spanish capital. The anthem was performed by the Belarusian diplomats, representatives of the Belarusian Diaspora, Spanish citizens, friends of the cultural association “Slavic Meetings” and also the Spanish group Vox Calermian that performs songs in Belarusian.

The event attracted the attention of Madrid residents and foreign tourists who enjoyed listening to Belarusian songs. At the end of the event, Charge d'affaires a.i. of Belarus in Spain Aleksei Panferov gave a commendation letter from the Belarusian Culture Ministry to Vox Calermian for tis contribution to the development of Belarusian-Spanish cultural cooperation.

The event “Let’s Sing the Belarusian Anthem Together” was also held in Lyon and Paris this year.
