MOSCOW, 20 May (BelTA) – Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO University) is hosting the exhibition Belarus and Belarusians which features items from the holdings of the National History Museum of Belarus, BelTA has learned from the press service of the Belarusian Embassy in Russia.
The exhibition has been organized by the Belarusian Embassy in Russia and the Belarusian community at MGIMO University. “The exhibition showcases a historic review of the major stages of Belarus’ development (ancient times, early states, the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, the Russian Empire, the Soviet Byelorussia, the Republic of Belarus), displays Belarusian tangible and intangible culture,” Senior Counselor of the Embassy Vasily Chernik said at the opening ceremony. “The exhibition presents the cultural heritage of the Belarusian nation as an inalienable part of the international community.”
The exhibition is made of mobile stands with documents, high-quality pictures, photos and explanatory texts to them in Belarusian and English.
The opening ceremony included a poetry reading by Belarusian students of MGIMO University and a tasting of Belarusian cuisine.
