MINSK, 15 February (BelTA) - The Belarusian national football team go 95th in the recently published rankings of the Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), BelTA has learned.
Since the start of 2024 Belarusian footballers have not played any matches to keep 1232.8 points. The Belarusian team will open new season against Montenegro (72nd in the FIFA rankings) in Antalya, Türkiye on 21 March. Belarus will face Malta (172nd) on 26 March. The Belarusian team’s highest achievement was 36th spot in the FIFA rankings in February 2011.
The FIFA rankings are topped by Argentina. Top Five also includes France, England, Belgium and Brazil. Among the post-Soviet states Ukraine ranks the highest (24th). Russia goes 38th.
The next FIFA rankings will be published on 4 April.
Belarus go 57th in the FIFA women’s rankings. The rankings are topped by Spain. Top Five also comprises the USA, France, England, and Sweden. The next women’s rankings will be published on 15 March.
