MINSK, 20 February (BelTA) - The Belarusian national football team goes 87th with 1,280 points in the recently published rankings of the Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), BelTA has learned.
Over the past two months Mikhail Markhel’s men did not play and remained unchanged in the new rankings. The Belarusian national team will be in action for the first time this year on 23 February when they face Uzbekistan (ranked 85th) in Sharjah, the United Arab Emirates. On 26 February, Belarus will take on Bulgaria (ranked 59th) in Sofia.

Among the post Soviet Union states Ukraine ranks the highest (24th). Russia goes 38th.
