MINSK, 14 February (BelTA) – Following the victory over the Netherlands in the Fed Cup World Group quarterfinal, the Belarusian national tennis team moved to the 5^th spot in the ITF Fed Cup Nations Ranking, BelTA has learned.

Before the Fed Cup World Group quarterfinal tie the Belarusian national team stood at the 8^th position, while the Netherlands was 5^th. Now, the teams replaced each other in the rankings. Switzerland, Belarus’ rivals in the Fed Cup World Group semifinal, goes 4^th.

Top 10 teams in the ITF Fed Cup Nations Ranking:

1. Czech Republic – 38,425 points,

2. France – 13,125,

3. Russia – 10,830,

4. Switzerland – 10,097,

5. Belarus – 9,040,

6. Germany – 8,920,

8. Netherlands – 6,445,

The Fed Cup World Group semifinal ties are scheduled for 22-23 April. Belarus will host Switzerland in Minsk, while the reigning champion Czech Republic will play the United States away. The winners will face each other in the final on 11-12 November.
