MINSK, 5 August (BelTA) – Belarus finished third in the Mixed 4x100 Medley Relay at the 2019 FINA Swimming World Cup in Tokyo, BelTA has learned.
The Belarusian team of Mikita Tsmyh, Ilya Shymanovich, Aksana Dziamidava and Alina Zmushka clocked 3:49.47. Japan claimed gold in 3:44.75. Australia was second in 3:47.07.
Alina Zmushka also clinched bronze in the women’s 50m breaststroke (31.12 seconds). Gold went to Alia Atkinson of Jamaica (30.35 seconds). Japan’s Satomi Suzuki took silver (31.09).
Earlier, Ilya Shymanovich clinched gold medals in the men’s 100m and 50m breaststroke. Mikita Tsmyh took bronze in the men’s 50m backstroke.
The competitions were held in the 50m pool at Tatsumi International Swimming Center, which is to host the 2020 Olympic Games.
The next event is scheduled for 8-10 August in Jinan, China.
