MINSK, 21 December (BelTA) – Belarus defeated Norway 5-1 to claim the Arosa Challenge bronze in Switzerland on 19 December, BelTA has learned.
Although Norway opened the score in the game, it was Belarus that ruled all the way afterwards. Geoff Platt and Artyom Demkov each scored twice. Dmitry Korobov added fifth for Belarus.
The Arosa Challenge tournament was won Switzerland who beat Slovakia 3-2 in a shootout.
For Belarus the international tournament in Switzerland became one of the stages to prepare for the 2016 IIHF World Championship which is due to take place in Saint Petersburg and Moscow in May 2016. The Belarusian national team will hold its next training camp under coach Dave Lewis in February 2016.
