MINSK, 13 October (BelTA) – The team of the State Customs Committee of Belarus finished third at the 7th CIS customs K9 competitions, BelTA learned from the State Customs Committee.
The international competitions took place at the National Canine Center of the State Customs Committee of Uzbekistan in Tashkent. Taking part in the competitions were the customs canine services of six countries. Uzbekistan was the event, with Russia finishing second.
The Belarusian team comprised Dmitry Baidalov (Gomel Customs) and his Welsh terrier Daisy and Vitaly Izobello (Grodno Regional Customs) with his Labrador Shera. The Belarusians scored 791 points in the detection of narcotics, psychotropic substances and their precursors in trucks, cars, buildings and luggage.
The CIS customs also shared experience in the application of modern methods to train tracker dogs.
“Such events contribute to the implementation of the tasks on enhancing efficiency in combating customs offences,” the State Customs Committee said.
