MINSK, 14 December (BelTA) – FC BATE Borisov reached the round of Last 32 of the UEFA Europa League, defeating Greece’s PAOK 3-1 in Group L, BelTA has learned.
BATE did all the damage in the first half, establishing what proved a decisive three-goal cushion. Maksim Skavysh forced in early opener. Nikolai Signevich scored twice in quick succession. BATE finish second in Group L and take their place in Monday's draw for the last 32. PAOK end bottom of the section on three points.
Elsewhere, Hungary’s Vidi drew 2-2 with London’s Chelsea in Budapest.
The Group L final standings: Chelsea – 16 points, BATE – 9 points, Vidi – 7, and PAOK – 3.
The playoff draw of the two continental tournaments will take place in the UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland on 17 December.
