MINSK, 4 January (BelTA) – Belarus’ tennis player Victoria Azarenka was off to a good start in Brisbane, Australia. BelTA has learned.

On 4 January, world No.22 Victoria Azarenka beat 115th Russian Elena Vesnina 6-2, 6-0 in the first round of the Brisbane International. Azarenka will next take on world No.2 Simona Halep of Romania.

The Brisbane International will run through 10 January. Victoria Azarenka holds two Australian Open singles titles (2012 and 2013).
