Azarenka secures first-round win in Mexico

MINSK, 19 September (BelTA) – Belarus’ world number 23 Victoria Azarenka went off to a good start at the Guadalajara Open powering past world number 144 Robin Montgomery of the United States, 6-1, 6-1, into the second round, BelTA has learned.

The Belarusian will next face Ukraine’s world number 102 Dayana Yastremska.

Belarus’ world number 160 Iryna Shymanovich lost 3-6, 4-6 to Australia’s Storm Hunter, ranked World No.157.

On 18 September, Belarus’ world number 89 Aliaksandra Sasnovich beat world number 47 Arantxa Rus of the Netherlands, 6-1, 7-6 (7-5) in the opener. The Belarusian will next play world number 11 Caroline Garcia of France.
