MINSK, 11 October (BelTA) – Belarusian tennis players Victoria Azarenka and Aliaksandra Sasnovich have moved to the Indian Wells fourth round where they will face each other, BelTA has learned.
Belarus’ world number 100 Aliaksandra Sasnovich ousted No.11 seed Simona Halep of Romania, 7-5, 6-4, to reach the round of 16. The Belarusian athlete for the first time since 2019 has won three matches in a row seeing off two athletes from the WTA Top 25.
Indian Wells two-time champion Victoria Azarenka edged Petra Kvitova of the Czech Republic, 7-5, 6-4.
