MINSK, 27 March (BelTA) – Belarus’ world number 32 Victoria Azarenka clinched a spot in the Miami Open semifinal fending off world number 68 Yulia Putintseva of Kazakhstan, 7-6 (7-4), 1-6, 6-3, BelTA has learned.
Her semifinal opponent will be No.4 seed Elena Rybakina of Kazakhstan. Earlier, Victoria Azarenka battled through world number 67 Peyton Stearns of the United States, 7-5, 3-6, 6-4, then saw off China’s world number 7 Qinwen Zheng, 6-4, 7-5, and defeated world number 30 Katie Boulter of the UK, 7-5, 6-1. Victoria Azarenka is a three-time Miami Open champion, winning the title in 2009, 2011, and 2016.
