MINSK, 29 August (BelTA) – Belarus’ world number 20 Aryna Sabalenka went off to a good start at the 2018 US Open defeating world number 37 Danielle Collins of the United States 6-0, 4-6, 6-4, BelTA has learned.

Earlier, Belarus’ world number 72 Vera Lapko saw off Ukraine’s world number 86 Kateryna Bondarenko in two straight sets 6-3, 6-3, Victoria Azarenka (World No.79) proved too strong for Slovakia’s Viktoria Kuzmova, the world number 56, 6-3, 7-5, and Aliaksandra Sasnovich (World No.33) defeated Switzerland’s Belinda Bencic, the world number 38, 2-6, 6-1, 6-2.
