MINSK, 27 August (BelTA) – Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus has moved up to the WTA Top 20 ahead of the start of the 2018 US Open, BelTA has learned.
Last week Aryna Sabalenka was ranked 25th in the WTA rankings and moved up 5 positions after winning the 2018 Connecticut Open in New Haven, the United States.
Aliaksandra Sasnovich is currently 34th, Vera Lapko is 72nd and Victoria Azarenka is 79th.
At the 2018 US Open start Aryna Sabalenka will go against U.S. Danielle Collins, Aliaksandra Sasnovich will play Switzerland’s Belinda Bencic, Vera Lapko will face Ukraine’s Kateryna Bondarenko, and Victoria Azarenka will take on Slovakia’s Viktoria Kuzmova.
The main draw of the fourth and final Grand Slam event of the year will kick off on 27 August to end on 9 September. The 2018 US Open prize money is $53 million.
