MINSK, 26 December (BelTA) - Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus goes 13th in the current WTA rankings, BelTA has learned.
This year 20-year-old Aryna Sabalenka won the first two WTA tournaments in her career and approached the Top Ten. The Belarusian number one holds 3,145 points. The WTA Top 100 includes 3 more Belarusian players: Aliaksandra Sasnovich (30th, 1570 points), Victoria Azarenka (51st, 1051 points), Vera Lapko (65th, 896 points).
The WTA rankings are still topped by Romania’s Simona Halep (6,921 points). Second goes German’s Angelique Kerber (5,875 points). Caroline Wozniacki from Denmark (5,586 points) is in third. Ukraine’s Elina Svitolina (5,350 points) is fourth. Naomi Osaka of Japan (5,115 points) is fifth.
