The festival will be held for the 13^th time. On 3 June, Slonim will bring together more than 20 art groups for adults and children, dancing, singing and other companies, professional and amateur groups. Partaking in the forum will be art groups from Poland and Lithuania, Belarus’ Grodno Oblast and Brest Oblast.

The opening of the festival will take place in Slonim’s renovated park. Participants of the festival will gather together near the Oginski canal. A costume show will take place in the spirit of the 18^th century, according to the Slonim District Executive Committee. The festival will also include a dancing flashmob.

The program of the festival includes a dramatized procession, dancing and music contest. A professional jury will evaluate execution skills, originality of performances and costumes.

“The festival has become a kind of a cultural brand and a landmark of the town. It regularly attracts new participants and guests,” the representatives of the executive committee said. The Polonaise festival aims to promote this dance, improve the performance skills of artists, expansion of creative ties and interaction of national cultures.

The forum is held in Slonim for a reason. One of the most famous composers Michal Kleofas Oginski spent his childhood years there. His uncle Michal Kazimierz Oginski, Grand Hetman of Lithuania, composer and poet, lived in Slonim. The bloom of Slonim in the second half of the 18^th century is connected with his name. Back then there was an opera and ballet theater, and the Slonim chapel was one of the biggest court orchestras in Europe.
