MINSK, 15 January (BelTA) – 2014 Olympics champion Anton Kushnir of Belarus won gold at the World Cup Freestyle Skiing aerials in the United States, BelTA has learned.
The Belarusian scored 120.36 points in the men’s final to claim the victory. Gracing the podium also were Mac Bohonnon of the United States (119.46 points) and Maxim Burov of Russia (107.32).
Anton Kushnir also won the Aerials World Cup in China’s Beida Lake.
Among the finalists in Lake Placid were also two Belarusians: Stanislav Gladchenko finished 7th with the total of 107.73 points, while Maxim Gustik placed 9th with 86.73. Artyom Bashlakov was 21st (82.48).
With a total of 208 points the Sochi champion currently tops the Aerials World Cup standings. Second is Qi Guangpu of China (180 points). Maxim Gustik of Belarus is third (129).
USA's Ashley Caldwell won the women’s competition in Lake Placid with the total of 99.63 points. Danielle Scott of Australia finished second (92 points). Russia’s Kristina Spiridonova claimed bronze (81.27). Alexandra Romanovskaya of Belarus placed 8th with the total of 80.32 points. Her teammate Anna Guskova finished 26th (49.14).
