MINSK, 19 February (BelTA) – Yulia Zhuravok of Ukraine won the 12.5km Junior Women Individual event on the second day of the ongoing 2015 IBU Youth/Junior World Championships in Raubichi, BelTA has learned.
The clean-shooting Ukrainian sealed the victory in 37:54.1, just 0.2 seconds ahead of silver medalist Kinga Mitoraj of Poland, also shooting clean. Bronze went to Kazakhstan’s Galina Vishnevskaya, 30:1 seconds back, with one penalty. Ukraine has bagged its second gold medal of the competitions. A day earlier Anna Kryvonos won the 10km Youth Women Individual competition for Ukraine.
As for Belarusian biathletes, Anastasia Kunets missed two targets to finish 21st, 3:58.8 behind the winning time. Her teammate Tatiana Trifonova was 41st, 7:50.9 back, with seven penalties, Svetlana Markovskaya was 48th (9:41.8; 7), Yevgenia Yakovleva – 52nd (10:09;8).
