MINSK, 7 June (BelTA) – Belarus’ world number 424 Anna Kubareva won W25 Kazan 2021 Tennis Tournament, BelTA has learned.
The Belarusian secured a solid win, 6-1, 6-3, over Greece’s world number 287 Valentini Grammatikopoulou in the final. This became the fourth ITF title for 20-year-old Anna Kubareva. On her way to the podium, the Belarusian defeated Ani Amiraghyan of Armenia (World No.926) 6-0, 6-1, Shalimar Talbi of Belarus (World No.351) 6-1, 6-4. Ekaterina Makarova of Russia (562) 7-5, 6-3 , and Russia’s Valeria Savinykh (196) 5-7, 6-2, 7-6 (7-3).
In the women’s doubles final the Belarusian duo of Shalimar Talbi and Iryna Shymanovich lost to the Russian-Uzbek tandem of Angelina Gabueva and Nigina Abduraimova 2-6, 6-7 (5-7).
