VITEBSK, 23 October (BelTA) – Fragments of glass bracelets, a ring and other items dating back presumably to the 12th -13th centuries were found in Polotsk, Chairman of the Polotsk District Executive Committee Igor Markovich wrote in his Instagram account, BelTA informs.
“Fragments of glass bracelets, a ring and other finds dating back presumably to the 12th -13th centuries were discovered in the territory of the Upper Castle during excavation works. The finds have scientific value, they will help get additional insights into the history of our ancient Polotsk,” he wrote.
A large-scale construction project has been underway in the territory of the Upper Castle in Polotsk since November 2019. Polotsk Cadet School will move to the buildings of the former hospital compound in 2021. Archaeologists are supervising construction works in the historic center of the town.
