MINSK, 28 January (BelTA) – Soloist of the National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theater of Belarus Anatoly Sivko received Award II Class at the 52nd Francisco Vinas International Singing Competition, BelTA learnt from the press service of the theater.
The competition was first held in Barcelona in 1963 is widely known and considered as one of the most prestigious music competitions. This year it has been the biggest ever competition. A total of 607 soloists from 61 countries applied to partake in it. Qualifying auditions were held in Paris, London, Milan, Berlin, Madrid, New York, Los Angeles, Beijing and Barcelona. Barcelona hosted three major tours, with the first two taking part in the Liceu Conservatory. The final concert was held in the Gran Teatre del Liceu. Contestants performed six operas each.
Anatoly Sivko joined the Bolshoi Theater of Belarus in 2013. The young singer took part in Salzburg Young Singers Project 2011, worked with conductors Vladimir Spivakov and Vladimir Yurovsky, gave a solo concert at the Valery Gergiev Festival in Mikkeli, Finland in 2012. Anatoly Sivko has also performed at Concertgebouw (Amsterdam), Berlin Concert House (Berlin), Muzikverein (Graz). Anatoly Sivko is a prize holder of the International Singing Competition (Kohtla-Jarve, Estonia 2008), the Oksana Petrusenko International Singing Competition (Kherson, Ukraine 2008), Second World Delphic Games (Saratov, Russia 2008), Klaudia Taev International Competition for Young Opera Singers (Parnu, Estonia 2009), Ivanov International Competition for Opera Singers (Tver, Russia 2009), Muslim Magomaev International Vocalists Contest (Russia 2012).
