MINSK, 28 December (BelTA) – FC BATE (Borisov) former Chairman of the Board Anatoly Kapsky has been named the Person of the Year in the Belarusian sport, according to the Pressball sports paper, BelTA has learned.

Anatoly Kapsky passed away on 22 September. He was the founder of one of the most successful Belarusian football clubs. BATE quickly turned from the Belarusian First League team into one of the leaders of the Belarusian Premier League and is a regular member of the most prestigious tournaments such as the Champions League and Europa League.

This is the third time Anatoly Kapsky has been named the Person of the Year after 1999 and 2008, according to Pressball.
