MINSK, 17 December (BelTA) - Sochi 2014 Olympic champion Anton Kushnir of Belarus won gold at the FIS Freestyle Ski Aerials World Cup 2016/2017 in Beida Lake, China.
Anton Kushnir did a perfect back Full Double Full Full for a score of 115.05 points. That was his first victory since the Olympic triumph in Sochi 2014 as he had a long break from competitive skiing due to treatment. Guangpu Qi finished one spot behind Anton Kushnir with 114.48 points. Another Chinese athlete Hang Zhou took the men's third place with a score of 95.58. Maxim Gustik of Belarus placed sixth with 84.07 points.
Belarusians Artem Bashlakov (93.06; 20th place) and Stanislav Gladchenko (74.11 points; 28th) did not qualify for the finals.
China's Xu Mengtao was victorious in the women's World Cup aerial competition at Beida Lake (94.47 points). Belarusian Anna Guskova was 5th with 73.66 points, her teammate Alexandra Romanovskaya finished in 16th (with 61.42).
The next World Cup will be held in Beida Lake on 18 December.
