MINSK, 26 June (BelTA) – Belarusian athletes claimed 16 medals at the 2017 European Junior Rowing Championships that took place in Belgrade, Serbia, BelTA has learned.
Aleksei Misyuchenko, Yuri Tkachev, Kirill Nikitin, Ilya Fedorenkov were the first to cross the finish line in the 1000m event. Darina Solonenko and Olga Klimova clinched gold in the 200m race. Grigory Maisyuk collected gold medals in the 1000m and 500m events. Kirill Smolyanik and Vladislav Litvinov were the best in the 500m race.
Belarus won the total of five gold, seven silver and four bronze medals. Taking part in the competitions were 860 athletes from 37 countries.
