The festival “Visiting the Radimichi” was held in the agrotown of Radomlya, Chausy District on 25 August. The guests were offered to take a journey into the distant past and visit the Radimichi, the Slavic tribe who lived on the territory of the modern Gomel Oblast and Mogilev Oblast in the 9th-12th centuries.
The Radimichi tribe was based on the territory of the modern-day town of Radomlya, as evidenced by the remains of the ancient settlement and a castle. Near the Castle Hill, the venue of the folk festival, the organizers built a stylized traditional house and a place to light fire. The festival featured a folk concert and dances, Viking fights, and an open-air museum of ancient culture. Locals treated visitors with dishes of the national Belarusian cuisine and invited everyone to the town of craftsmen.
