For over 25 years of diplomatic relations, Belarus and China have devised their own recipe for friendship and mutually beneficial partnership. Thanks to close ties, including at the highest level, the two countries have established successful cooperation in every sector. Education is as one of its best examples. It is no coincidence that 2019 has been declared the Year of Belarusian Education in China. The two countries have over 350 inter-university agreements on cooperation.
As part of the Year of Belarusian Education in China, Minsk played host to an event which can become another good tradition for Belarus and China. Belarus’ National Library, the country’s main treasure of knowledge, hosted a meeting of talented Chinese students of the Belarusian universities with Education Minister Igor Karpenko, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China Cui Qiming, and rectors of the country’s leading universities. The event brought together the young people who have excelled in studies, research and public activities. Today, over 3,000 young people from China are enrolled in Belarusian universities.
