Representatives of various religions gathered for a vigil and prayer at the Gates of Memory monument in the Trostenets Memorial Complex.
Eighty years ago, on 3 September 1944, the first commemorative rally took place here when the remains of prisoners burned in the Trostenets death camp were buried. Back then, more than 10,000 people came to honor the memory of the dead. It was the first step towards perpetuating the memory of the victims of the death camp.
