Rynochnaya, Ratushnaya, Paradnaya, Sobornaya, Stephen Bathory, Kirchplatz… One of Grodno’s main squares had many names. In the 14th century the square was a venue to conclude most important trading deals. After receiving the Magdeburg rights in 1496 the architectural ensemble was beautified with a Town Hall. The Castle Courtyard and the first tavern were opened there in 1540-1560.
