The Ukrainian pavilion offered traditional treats: vareniki, bread rolls, pies with different fillings. But most importantly, as they joked here, was to have a shot of horilka rested on oak bark and have a slice of salo. This, they say, adds strength and health, they said.

“This is a great festival. I made so many new friends here. It is important to give people a holiday. I was hugged, had my mustache pulled a zillion of times! It is just great. I enjoyed every minute of it!” flamboyant Volodymyr Tyschenko from Mogilev shared his impressions.

“The festival, the national pavilions show the main thing: all of us feel at home, here in Belarus,” Ukrainian Alexei Vecherny from Vitebsk said.
