Andris Liepa’s Diaghilev Gala in Minsk

Great ballet dancer, director and producer, People’s Artist of Russia Andris Liepa on 26 November presented three one-act ballets Firebird, Scheherazade, and The Spirit of the Rose from the legendary collection of Sergei Diaghilev’s Russian Seasons on the main opera and ballet stage in Belarus. Michel Fokine’s ballet Firebird (music by Igor Stravinsky) premiered in Minsk in 2014. The Diaghilev Gala featured three legendary productions with unique stage decorations and beautiful costumes restored by artist Anatoly Nezhny from the sketches of renowned stage designer of the Silver Age with Belarusian roots Leon Bakst.
