Commemorative meeting at the Brest Hero Fortress

On the dawn of 22 June – Day of National Commemoration of Victims of the Great Patriotic War – thousands of people gathered for a solemn commemorative meeting at the Brest Hero Fortress Memorial Complex. It was here where the deadliest war of the 20th century started 76 years ago.

Twenty-two official delegations arrived in Brest. Among them were representatives of Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Penza, Smolensk, Kiev, Vranov nad Toplou. The delegations comprised war veterans, young people, and members of public organizations.
