The Holy Saturday preceded the main celebrations. On the 6th day of the Holy Week Orthodox and Catholic Christians commemorated the day when Jesus Christ's body was laid in the tomb. From early morning parishioners were bringing the main holiday symbols such as Easter cakes and colored eggs to churches to have them blessed.
