Pancakes, the main dish of the Maslenitsa Week

According to old traditions, main dishes of the Maslenitsa Week are pancakes and flapjacks, cheese and butter which have carried special significance for Belarusians since old times. The pancakes symbolize the sun and bring the spring closer while cheese and butter attract wealth. During the holiday week in Belarus, one can try dozens of varieties of pancakes, made according to national and special family recipes, served with original fillings and unusual snacks.
