Chinese Lantern Festival at BSU

Chinese Lantern Festival Yuanxiao was held in the Belarusian State University, the country’s main university, on 10 February. The celebration marks the end of traditional Lunar New Year (the Spring Festival). Professors and students of the National Confucius Institute in the BSU together with the students of Minsk schools and gymnasiums learning Chinese prepared a concert to celebrate the festival.

The winners and participants of the How I See China Contest were honored in a ceremony held as part of the festival. The jury evaluated more than 70 works – drawings, photos and crafts made by students of secondary schools and gymnasiums from across the country.

The event was attended by BSU Rector Sergey Ablameyko, Director of the National Confucius Institute in the BSU Anatoly Tozik, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Belarus Cui Qiming and also representatives of National Confucius Institute in the BSU.
