VITEBSK: Get the feel of the amazing atmosphere of the city of artists: Marc Chagall, Kazimir Malevich, Mstislav Dobuzhinsky, Ivan Puni, El Lissitzky…
Vitebsk, a city that drew many eminent artists in the 19th-20th centuries, remains one of the largest culture centers in Belarus. It is impossible to get a proper feel of the city’s magic from a distance. New Year holidays give a wonderful opportunity to visit its ancient sites and stroll along the cozy narrow streets, visit the famous Marc Chagall Museum that has recently celebrated the 25th anniversary of its founding and pay a visit to the Summer Amphitheater, the main venue and symbol of the Slavonic Bazaar in Vitebsk. One more thing one should not miss is to take a ride on the unique means of public transportation: a trolleybus and two trams in a special livery featuring century-old sketches by Kazimir Malevich and Nina Kogan.
